This is Michael Alan Tate's (2) second appearance on VVV. He is a facilitator and coach with individuals and teams facing significant transitions. His new book, Roll Up Your Sleeves – leading and living in a world of constant change, is based on the strategies that have worked for his clients for over 20 years.
Michael Alan Tate (2) Vroom Veer Stories
- Before a speaking gig the company he was set to speak to had an employee's son die suddenly, they asked him to speak about how to deal with that.
- Transition is not change; change is an event; transition is the wave of emotions we all must ride through to get to the other side
- Different people experience the waves differently based on how they are wired; we all just need to be nice to ourselves
- Some big silver linings of a pandemic; movie stars are stuck at home with their kids too!; no more Fear of Missing Out (FOMO!) there is nothing to miss out on
- Everyone has hidden battles they are fighting; be kind and speak truth; combining accountability and kindness
- Get real clear about what you want; and connect to spirit and describe your desires in vivid detail
- Self-Counseling doesn't work; you need a friend, family member, priest, guru, or yoga instructor to help you through those waves of transition
- Showing people a picture of the waves of emotions and helping them see that what they are going through is a normal human process helps them accept the situation
